What fits inside the 5-Compartment Bare Box?
The 5-Compartment Bare Box can hold a main food plus several sides or snacks. A typical lunch might include a sandwich, fruit, vegetables, crackers and a small treat. The five sections create a simple packing formula without requiring several loose containers.
Will a regular sandwich fit?
Many standard sandwiches fit inside the main compartment, although bread sizes vary. We regularly use Stonemill bread, which fits but can be snug. The 2-Compartment Bare Box has a larger main section for bigger bread, wraps, bagels and other larger foods.
Do the compartments keep food separated?
The removable silicone gasket is designed to seal around the individual compartments when the lunch box is properly closed. This helps prevent typical lunch foods from mixing during the school day.
Can a kindergartener open and close it?
Many kindergarten-aged children can learn to use the Bare Box, but some need practice at first. We recommend practising the opening and closing motion at home before sending it to school.
What are its dimensions and weight?

Is it dishwasher-safe?
Yes. The stainless steel lunch box and removable silicone gasket are dishwasher-safe. Remove the gasket and wash both components separately for a thorough clean.
Is the Bare Box leakproof?
The Bare Box has a leak-resistant seal designed to keep typical lunch foods separated. It is suitable for thicker foods such as yogurt and hummus but is not designed to carry loose liquids such as soup.
